In the not-so-distant future, a terrible water shortage and 20-year drought has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities regulated by a single meglomaniac company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides that he's had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom!
Riotously funny and touchingly honest, URINETOWN is a hilarious musical satire of capitalism, social irresponsibility, bureaucracy, corporate mismanagement and musical theatre itself- no one is safe from scrutiny!
Featuring the Industry Course students from the Brisbane Academy of Musical Theatre, this production of URINETOWN promises to be an exciting showcase of some of the best up and coming musical theatre talent in Brisbane.
Presented by the Brisbane Academy of Musical Theatre (www.bamt.com.au)
